UC Davis Road Race Recap by Megan Bradley

The UC Davis road race weekend consisted of a characteristically flat criterium, circuit, and TTT. The half mile crit was located on campus. Makenzie Delaughder (Sac State) claimed first place in the Women’s C field. Samantha Quijano (Mills) recently upgraded from the C’s and won the Women’s B field in a final sprint with second place Danielle Monahan (Cal). Stanford had success in the crit with a win in Men’s D by Kevin Penner and in Men’s C by Anthony Beron. The Men’s B was won by Will Kanz (San Jose). UCLA’s Kenneth Cox earned first place in the Men’s A.

The 3.5-mile circuit race proved to be in favor of UC Davis’s Men’s D, Men’s B and Women’s C categories with a win from Moses Wolfe-Polgar, Aaron Gouw, and a win from Natalie Roberts followed by Mimi Mcnamara in second, respectively. The Women’s A race was won by Maddy Ward (UCLA) with Patricia Gonzalas (Stanford) in second, and Eleanor Wiseman (Cal) in third. Also from Cal, Jocelyn Vides took first place in the Women’s B, followed closely by Yelyzaveka Tashkovych (UCSB). Ethan Frankel (UCLA) outsprinted his field for first place in Men’s A. Stanford’s Anthony Beron took first for the Men’s C.

UC Berkeley won the Women’s A TTT by almost five minutes! The home court advantage was apparent again for Davis’s cycling team with TTT wins from the Women’s B, Men’s B, and Men’s C categories! Great job everyone!
